Taquito’s support for the next Tezos protocol “Hangzhou”!

We are very pleased to announce Taquito v11.0.1, which supports the new Tezos Hangzhou protocol coming to mainnet around Dec 3rd, or more specifically, at block level 1,916,929.

Taquito v11 has had two release candidates and a lot of testing. We only release a new major version of Taquito when a new protocol proposal reaches quorum in the Promotion phase of Tezos’ on-chain governance mechanism.

Now that the Hangzhou Tezos Protocol Proposal has reached quorum in the Tezos Promotion phase of on-chain governance, we know this new protocol is “locked-in.”

Tezos is always evolving, and our work isn’t done yet! Let’s talk about Idiazabalnet.

Idiazabal! The Tezos Tenderbake test network.

The Tezos ecosystem already has a new testnet for our next major “I” protocol update. Idiazabalnet is a test network that runs the new “Tenderbake” network. Tenderbake is a new consensus protocol for Tezos that brings fast finality and a host of advantages.

We believe strong Tezos developer participation in the Idiazabalnet testnet is crucial to help the “I” protocol proposal & upgrade . Taquito v11 is compatible with Idiazabalnet today, and we encourage all Tezos developers to start testing, exploring, or building on Idiazabalnet. If you find something that doesn’t work, or just seems weird, share it with us or the ecosystem. Early feedback on the I protocol will help improve the final protocol and help Tezos continue to thrive!
